Alex Kautza

Meet MSB Professionals

Alex Kautza, Attorney

Alex joined MSB as a Law Clerk in 2022 and recently graduated magna cum laude from the University of St. Thomas School of Law. During law school, Alex was an Editor of the Journal of Law & Public Policy, a founding executive board member of UST Law’s Anti-Racism Alliance, and a Research Assistant to Professor David Grenardo, a national leader in contract law, sports law, and professional identity formation. He was also a member of the Community Justice Project legal clinic, where he pushed for changes in the law to better protect Minnesotans’ civil liberties and worked closely with the Minnesota Attorney General’s Office fighting housing discrimination.

Throughout his tenure at UST Law, he received several academic honors and now enthusiastically brings this knowledge to his role as an attorney at MSB. Prior to pursuing his legal career, Alex worked for several years advocating for racial justice in education and leading non-profit organizations.

Alex is a creative and detail-oriented legal advocate who always centers his clients’ humanity and dignity as he fights tenaciously for their rights. He is passionate about advocating for those who have experienced discrimination in the workplace and holding companies accountable when they mistreat their employees.

He lives in the Twin Cities with his wife and four children, and he is passionate about his Christian faith, writing, and racial and economic justice.
